League of Legends (abbreviated LoL) is a multiplayer online battle arena video game developed and published by Riot Games for Microsoft Windows and macOS. Inspired by Defense of the Ancients, the game follows a freemium model. The game was released on October 27, 2009. An abridged version of the game called League of Legends: Wild Rift for mobile and console was announced on October 15, 2019.
The game is played from a three-dimensional isometric perspective and consists of three primary game modes: Summoner's Rift, and ARAM. Players compete in matches that usually last 20 to 50 minutes. In each game mode, teams work together to achieve a victory condition, typically destroying the core building (the Nexus) in the enemy team's base after bypassing a line of defensive structures called turrets or towers.
The game is absolutely free and does not require a download fee for the client. It has its own in-game currency - Riot Points - for which you can make a variety of purchases: they will not affect the gameplay and will not give you any advantages, but will emphasize your individuality on the battlefield.
League of Legends is actively developing and receives regular updates so that the large army of fans cannot get bored.
